Probably the most asked questions I get when people stop smoking is “How come smoking bad for you?” It is a question that has plagued my family for years and I am lucky enough to avoid having to answer it too many times. However, I am going to probably always be asked this question.

Smoking is bad for you in so many ways. Firstly, it could cause a selection of cancers. The most popular cancer that is due to smoking is lung cancer. This can be life threatening with some types of lung cancer. Second hand smoke can also cause a wide selection of other ailments such as gum disease, stroke, heart attack, and other problems. It isn’t just the smoker who is effected by smoking, the whole family is.

But I could tell you that for me, when I was a smoker, it was not okay. If I didn’t smoke, I possibly could not imagine living the others of my life with out a cigarette. What’s the main reason smokers make an effort to stop? It is because of all the warnings about smoking and medical risks involved. All the movies and television shows tell us to show down those cigarettes and perhaps we will be so fortunate not to get lung cancer or die from their website!
